Case Studies
Myers Professional Insulation, Inc. was selected as the Gold Star Spray Foam Insulation Applicator for Western Elementary in Fayetteville, NC and Snipes Academy in Wilmington, NC. These schools are the first to feature a unique design, Dragonfly, as the prototype for future green building. MPI was selected for this project based upon our years of experience and expert installation of InsulBloc spray foam. We provided a monolithic insulation barrier around the school to eliminate any uncontrolled air flow.
SfL&a Architects’ unique design: “Dragonfly™ utilizes the most efficient technology available and is among an elite group of building designs worldwide to provide more energy than it consumes. The design prototype includes green features such as geothermal A/C and solar photovoltaic power systems, as well as layout flexibility and acoustics that comply with American National Standards Institutes standards. Western Elementary School is LEED Platinum registered and designed to achieve an ENERGY STAR Target Finder rating of 100. The Dragonfly™ design represents a sustainable, state-of-the-art and cost-effective approach to building K-12 public school facilities.”
